Knowledge Base

Our knowledge base is in the form of a mind map. Never worked with one of these before? No problem. Follow these steps and you will find a technology solution in no time.

1. Find a bubble that corresponds with your current technology question. Note: there are sections for How To’s, Useful Links and basic concept knowledge (What Is…).

2. Click on the small grey arrow inside of the bubble. You may need to use the controls at the bottom to magnify the page a bit. As an alternative, you can hit the “fullscreen” icon below and the entire map will open in a new tab.

3. This will take you deeper into the mind map. In order to read the details, you’ll need to expand and contract the nodes. These are the small grey bubbles with either “+” or “-” signs, respectively.

4. Happy navigation, and solution finding! Contact us if you have questions.

About Us

RJ and Andrew are graduate students working on a research project through the University of Nebraska at Omaha under a grant from the Iowa West Foundation. Through the project, we are assisting small businesses with their Information technology (IT). Our project promotes economic development in Council Bluffs and surrounding areas by enhancing the use of IT by small businesses.  We team up with a small business and go through a series of interventions lasting around 6 to 8 weeks. The interventions are designed to achieve one or more of the following outcomes:

  • access to new markets (increased revenue)
  • administrative efficiencies (cost and time savings)
  • enhanced products or services (improved competitiveness)
  • increased learning / skills development (improved capacity and competency)
  • enhanced confidence / knowledge regarding technology (empowerment)

Our goals:

  • Promote the economic development of small businesses in the Council Bluffs area by carrying out IT-related interventions.
  • Enhance the capacity of small business owners and employees to adopt technology for their businesses through learning interventions.
  • Build capacity to address the information-technology related needs of small business by developing a repository of reusable IT and learning solutions.
